Pfungstadt, September 2008 – The Hofmann monty 5800, John Bean T8058 and the Boxer King 58 are designed to change tyres on rims of 4” to 58“ outside diameter without any clamping range extension. Thanks to this extremely vast clamping range the machines are ideally suited to handle the most diverse tyre/wheel assemblies.
These tyre changers are
available in three versions: version B is connected by cable to the
control console, version BA has the control console fitted on a boom of
the machine so that the tyre changing procedure is always under control
and within view of the operator and there is no safety risk through the
connecting cable. The version WL is radio controlled so the operator
can choose the best possible location to have everything under control
and within view – and all this without any embarrassing
cables.
Operation is very time-saving as the top and bottom
carriages are moved by hydraulic cylinders. While the top carriage is
used for quick advance of the mounting tool, the bottom carriage
advances slowly. The combination of both systems ensures a very quick
and time-saving side-to-side movement, exerting a high bead breaking
force of up to 3.8 t which is particularly useful when it comes to
handling tightly fitting tyre / wheel assemblies.
The special
clamping jaws can accommodate rim flanges up to 40 mm thick and rims
with a high offset. Positioning and rotation of the mounting tool are
controlled independent of each other which saves additional operating
steps and time.
